Review: Etude House Mineral Magic Any Cushion: Magic Pink

Hello everyone! Todays review is of the Magic any cushion by Etude House. it took me a long time to decide which colour I wanted but I went for the pink shade, designed to brighten the skin and make it look more healthy and transparent.

The packaging of this is so princess-y, it is a large compact which fits perfectly in my palm and as usual etude house have designed it to charm me into buying it. so pink and cute!

Open it up and we find a large mirror and the puff applicator.

The puff is made out of a rubbery sponge, it's designed to pick up the product but not absorb it like a regular sponge which can be very wasteful.

There is a plastic lid covering the sponge to it doesn't dry out and separates it from the puff.

Inside is the cushion soaked in the product, when you press into it the product pools around that area so you know the cushion is fully saturated!

 

Unfortunately my camera doesn't show the effect very well.

The cushion is designed to even out the skin tone, so it doesn't provide any coverage or make pores smaller. it makes my skin look so much brighter and healthier and glowing. On days when I don't need to wear much makeup this is perfect with a little powder over to set it in place. I expected this  to be very similar to the Baby Choux base but it is much thinner and brighter, it has a slightly dewy finish to the skin and the skin feels moist to the touch for a while if you don't set it with a powder. For this reason the product doesn't last a very long time. if you wear a bb cream or foundation over it, it starts to wear off much faster. this has only been a problem in the warm weather and I look forward to trying it out in the winter.

 

I bought mine on Ebay for around £10 which I think is a little pricey however you can buy refills for around £6 which is very convenient! I plan to buy a refill of the peach shade next.

Review: Etude House Baby Sweet Sugar Powder

 Hello everyone, today's review is of the Baby Sweet Sugar Powder from Etude House. I'm going to be honest and tell you that I bought this mainly for it's cute packaging. I couldn't find many reviews of this so im not sure if its a new product or not, sadly i couldn't find any information about it but i'm going to share my thoughts on it.

 As usual one side of the box is in English which tells you the ingredients and instructions. it also tells you there is 5g of product which is a very small amount for a powder.

The tub has the same design as the box, its very sweet and matches the design on the magic any cushion and mineral any cushion.

The puff is very soft and squishy and feels very high quality.

You'll find a sticker which covers the little holes, it peels off.

I'm really impressed with this powder, although it doesn't make a huge difference it evens out the skin and mattifies it without looking cakey, my pores look smaller and oil is controlled better than with my usual pressed powder. It evens out the texture of my skin and makes it look brighter and more flawless. It's colourless so it should fit a range of skin tones, although I'm not sure about dark skin tones as the brightening effect may be too much. The powder is very finely milled and one or two presses into the tub is enough to cover my whole face.

 

 

My only issue with this powder is the size of it, the tub is very small and only contains 5g of product which could be good for travelling but otherwise I don't think it will last as long as other powders. I bought this for about £7 on Ebay including shipping which, compared to the other etude house powders, is quite expensive for its size.

Review: Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion light beige N02

Hi everyone! Todays review is of the etude house mineral any cushion. After trying the magic any cushion (review here)and loving it I decided to get this. (warning! lots of pictures!)

 The compact is the same size as the any cushion and they have repackaged it so they both have the same design n the front (the old packaging was a swirly E )

The box has a side of English which tells you the ingredients and how to apply.

 Open it up and you'll find a large mirror and the puff applicator.
 

The puff is a royal blue colour(sorry mine is a little dirty from using it) its made from a special rubber material and designed to absorb little product so its not wasteful.

 

Inside is the cushion soaked in the product and there is a lid o cover it so it doesn't dry out.

 

To apply simply push the puff into the sponge and pat all over your face, im not sure if this is a foundation or bb cream as it doesn't say, it feels more like a bb cream because it is very moist and hydrating and has many benefits for the skin including spf 50 pa+++ which is great since I don't need to apply sunscreen. it also claims to be brightening, wrinkle reducing, sebum control and provide perfect coverage.

 One layer provides a light coverage and evens out the skin tone, It can cover minor acne scars but you can see it didn't cover the pimple on my cheek very well. Two layers covered the pimple just fine but id prefer to just use concealer. I have oily skin and the staying power is around 4 hours before it starts to look oily and slide off, however a little bit of powder can easily fix this.  I think this would work best for people with normal skin/oily because oil control is okay but clings to dry areas, making them look cakey.

Overall I really like this cushion  makeup, the puff makes application very easy and its very handy for travel as you can do your makeup anywhere with everything provided in the compact. I love that it has such a high spf and the packaging is adorable. I bought mine of ebay for around £10

 

 



Review: Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar

Hi everyone! Today I'm going to do a review of these adorable lip products from Korean brand Tony Moly. I got them in No.1 Juicy Strawberry and No.2 Juicy Apple!

Firstly the packaging is adorable! each colour has an adorable bunny lid and each has different face, the strawberry one doesn't look very impressed hehe. The shades correspond with the scents, the strawberry smells to me like strawberry yogurt and the apple of a very sweet apple which I really like.

the tube twists at the bottom and you see there is a generous amount of product.

These are basically just a tinted lip balm, the colours are very sheer but buildable and have a slightly glossy finish. Strawberry is a purple toned baby pink and apple is a more pigmented cherry toned pink.

Swatched on my arm they don't look very different, I think a lot of the shades are very similar and if you're going to buy some you should probably go for two very different shades.

 

The texture is very soft and slightly sticky but not unpleasant, they don't provide any moisture or spf so I would recommend a lip balm underneath.

 

I didn't really like the strawberry because it is a Barbie shade of pink which I don't think suits me at all so I've only used it once which is a shame but I find myself using the apple every day so far! Its great to carry around to impress people with the cuteness hehe.
